Gröna Lund’s Re:Boot program Promotes Health and a Sustainable Workplace

Gröna Lund is Stockholm’s historic amusement park on Djurgården. It is known for its rides, shows, and attractions that welcome millions of visitors every year. Beyond entertaining guests, Gröna Lund is committed to creating a sustainable and healthy workplace for its employees.

The Re:Boot initiative, developed by physiotherapist Fredrik Dietrichsson, has made Gröna Lund a finalist in the IAAPA Brass Ring Awards, in the Best Health & Wellness Program category. The program is an international industry award recognizing efforts that advance the amusement park sector.

Individual training programs makes a difference

Re:Boot is based on a simple insight. Employees have very different roles and needs – from ride technicians and carpenters to chefs, IT developers, and accountants. Therefor standard solutions for workplace health don’t work. With individually tailored training programs on-site, integrated into daily work, Re:Boot strengthens both the body and team spirit.

Positive results from the firs 20 weeks

After the first 20-week period, results were clear. Participants’ self-rated health increased by 37%, and overall strength increased by 184%. And many reported better sleep, less pain, and more energy in daily life.

“Being able to work proactively and long-term on health, while putting the individual at the center, is both meaningful and inspiring,” says Fredrik.

Gröna Lund provides an inspiring example of how employee health initiatives can contribute to sustainability – in everyday work, in the workplace, and for society as a whole.
