At Royal Djurgården, we love initiatives that both challenge and inspire. One such example is Swedish Startup Kitchen, launched by Way Out West. Here, visitors get to experience plant-based innovation in action, with a focus on climate, creativity, and collaboration.
Swedish Startup Kitchen works with startups like Hooked, Oh Mungood, Färsodlarna, FOR REAL! FOODS, hÄppi, Kado, DIG, and NAIMA, showing that sustainable food solutions are not only possible – they can also be fun and exciting.
Menus are designed to reduce waste and served using circular solutions, demonstrating that food can nourish both people and the planet. Of particular interest to us at Royal Djurgården is the involvement of Generation Waste, a valued partner in our own food waste initiatives.
As project lead Lisa Laurell explains:
“Way Out West has long worked with sustainability and is the perfect platform to open up conversations about the structural challenges in today’s food system.”
Thank you to Lisa Laurell and the Way Out West team for leading by example. Initiatives like Swedish Startup Kitchen help spark curiosity, share solutions, and create space for meaningful dialogue about sustainable food.
